Filing requirements:
1. Applicant’s name and address
2. One representation of the mark (in color if claimed)
3. List of goods/ services according to the Nice classification
4. Priority data (if priority is claimed)

 
Can be filed later:

5. Power of Attorney, no notarization
6. Priority documents (if priority is claimed), to be filed within
three months from the filing date

 
Use of the mark: compulsory
Non-use period:
5 years after the registration date
Duration of protection: 10 years after the filing
date or last renewal date

 
Renewals:
1. Applicant’s name and address
2. Name of Trademark and Reg. No.
3. Classes and list of goods/services
4. Power of Attorney, no notarization

 
Assignment:
1. Signed and sealed Powers of Attorney in the name of the Assignor
and the Assignee, no legalization
2. Original Assignment (or its Certified copy) or a signed and
sealed Assignment form, notarization is required
Trademarks



 
Filing requirements:
1. Applicant’s name and address
2. Inventor’s name and address
3. Specification with claims, abstract and drawings for translation
4. Priority data (if priority is claimed)

 
Can be filed later:
5. Power of Attorney, no notarization
6. Priority documents (if priority is claimed), to be filed within
three months from the filing date

 
National phase of a PCT application:
Filing of a national phase of PCT applications is not possible. It is only possible to designate Slovenia through designation of an European Patent and to validate an EP patent in Slovenia, 3 months after the grant.

 
Examination:
– patent – issued after formal examination – valid for 20 years
if the Applicant submits an evidence that the same patent was granted
in EPO or in other countries

 
Annuities:
– accumulated and payable at the time of the grant of the patent
– subsequent annuities for granted patents are payable before the
next anniversary of the filing date

 
Assignment:
1. Signed and sealed Powers of Attorney in the name of the Assignor
and the Assignee, no legalization
2. Original Assignment (or its Certified copy) or a signed and
sealed Assignment form, notarization is required

Patents



 
Filing requirements:
1. Applicant’s name and address
2. Name and address of the author
3. Drawings or photographs of the design (at least one set, 3 sets
recommended)
4. Priority data (if any)

 
Can be filed later:
5. Power of Attorney, no notarization
6. Priority documents (if priority is claimed), to be filed within
three months from the filing date

 
Duration of protection: 5 years after the filing
date

 
Renewals: 4 times for a period of 5 years

 
Assignment:
1. Signed and sealed Powers of Attorney in the name of the Assignor
and the Assignee, no legalization
2. Original Assignment (or its Certified copy) or a signed and
sealed Assignment form, notarization is required
